The Soil

Red clay and limestone formed into ancient and rocky alluvions; the remains of a vast dejection washed down, over 1010 meters, from the Sainte-Victoire Mountain by torrents.
Geologically recognized in the Côtes de Provence appellation as Sainte Victoire soil.

Average age vines 30 years.

The Vineyard
Syrah, Mourvèdre, Grenache.
The percentage for grape varieties varies from one vintage to another..
The Vinification
Maceration and fermentation in stainless steel vats.
• 85 % aging in oak casks called “foudres”, according to the provençal tradition, for 12 months
• 15% in new French oak for 6 months.
Tasting Notes
VisualNice intense red colour.
OlfactoryVery complex nose, which shows the power of “syrah” grape variety. Aromas of undergrowth and crystallized red fruits and leather.
GustativeTasting advice: This wine needs aeration and should be opened as soon as possible. Best when “carrafed”.
Full mouth, powerful structure. Nice length and finish.
